Stop Animation

This is me and Britt's stop animation. I'm making the cupcakes and she took the pictures. I really like it because we got a ton of photos and it looks interesting. I think we were very successful at creating a fluid video without too many stops.

Artistic and Commercial

This is my artistic photograph. It's artistic because it's showing more emotion and it's not trying to sell a product. I edited so that the lighting would be washed out and look like she was in a dark space. Her hand on her head also contributes to the artistic theme.

This is my commercial photograph. This is commercial, because the background is solid and also simple, helping to focuse on the person. The photo shows off the clothes, looking like it's trying to sell the dress and sweater.

Portraits

This is a photo of Becca, it was taken in the school with one of the painted backgrounds. I really liked this photo because of the coloring and the abstract background. Becca's facial expressions and shrugged shoulders gives the photo an innocent feeling that I really liked as well. I edited it by cropping under her knees and bringing out the background colors.

This photo of Britt was taken in the school with the black velvet as the background. I really liked it because it felt like it could be an ad. The solid background really makes her stand out and shows off the outfit. Her arm being up also helped to show off the sweater giving it a commercial feeling. In editing I saturated it slightly so that the sweater could stand out a little more.

This photo of Britt, Neelie, and Becca was taken by Pioneer Courthouse Square. I really liked it because it looked very natural. They all look like they're about to or are laughing and their dresses helped add to the summer/spring feeling. I thought this would also be a good commercial photo, because the dresses are being showcased. I edited it by saturating it slightly and making the background more blue. I didn't change this one a lot because i already like the lighting,

Photo Effects

Daguerro Type
This is a photo of Becca's shoes. To make it look older I changed it to black and white with a slight tint of sepia. The edges were also darkened so that you're focused on the object in the center. I layered a photo of a sidewalk/gravel to give the photo more texture. I also changed the opacity.

Tilt Shift
This is a photo I took by the water front. To make it look unreal I first cropped out the sky so that the boats were focused on. Then I blurred the top and the bottom so that only the center boats look clear and the photo looks very tiny like a model of boats.

Lighting Assignment

This is my reflection image. I like that although I'm taking an image of a building up close, your eyes are drawn to the building that is seen in the reflection. I like the how the lighting effects the colors and makes the bulding look very clear.

This is my shadows image. I liked this photo because the shadow from the jeans creates a seperation between the rocks and the pants. The jeans look blurry and the shadow creates a very distinct line.

This is my backlight photo where the subject is lit up. The subject is clearly darker but not dark enough to be a silhouette. I like it because the bright background shines around the subject.

This is my silhouette photo. I like this becasue the sun is very bright, and looks great shining through the streaky clouds. The subject looks like a statue with the pose she is doing. I thought the clouds and the color of the sky also added to the picture.

This is my chiaroscuro photo. I really liked this photo because the one side of her face is lit up in an eerie light. We used a cell phone to create the blue ish lighting and held it up to her face. The expression on her face also helps the photo.

Multiple Image Techniques

This is my multiple exposure picture. I took this of Britt turning in the hall way. I layered it so that you could see both angles of her turning. I like that it looks as if there are two people turning around each other, when really it is two different pictures.

This is my panorama picture. I took it in my backyard on a foggy day. This is four different pictures, merged together in photoshop. I like the lighting and fog, because it gives it an eerie feeling.

This is my HDR photo. I took this on a snowy day from my balcony looking down at the path leading to my backyard. I like that the snow is very white and powdery and the trees are a nice shade of green. I like how the shadows turned out so that they aren't too dark and distracting.

Movement Assignment

Slow Motion

I took this while Becca was shaking her head so that her face would be blurred but her body would be clear. This is a slow motion shot.

Camera Shake

I took this in the hallway while Gabby was walking/running. I like that the blue light is almost glowing around her and the background is also blurred.

Freeze Action

I took this photo while Becca was swinging so that she would be frozen in the air.

Panning

I took this of a boy in PE running, I like the the background is blurred but he is clear.
